Changelog

What changed in each release of TempMV, newest first.

  1. v2.6.1

    Messages have their own counter

    • New private messages no longer count on the notification bell — only on the Messages icon.

    For everyone

    • The bell shows everything except private messages; the Messages icon (top bar, sidebar and the phone's tab bar, now with a number) shows those.
  2. v2.6.0

A new chat and a new OS museum

    • Messages: replies, photos, view-once photos, reactions, edits, typing and online status.
    • Reply suggestions and word predictions in English and Spanish.
    • The OS museum is redesigned: timeline, families, filters and a detail sheet.

    Messages

    • Reply to a specific message; tap the quote to jump to it.
    • Send photos (drag, paste or attach) and open them full screen. They are private: only you and the other person can see them.
    • View-once photos 💣: the other person can open them once, then they are deleted.
    • Reactions, editing for 15 minutes, copy, delete (now erases the content too).
    • See when a friend is typing, online, or when they were last seen; profile pictures next to messages.
    • Suggested replies and word predictions (English and Spanish) — tap to edit, or send them straight away. Worked out in your browser.
    • Search your chats and jump back to the latest message.

    OS museum

    • A year axis with every system, decade jumps, family filters with counts and quick toggles (bootable, offline, instant, GUI).
    • Timeline or grid view, “Surprise me”, and a detail sheet with specs, licence and similar systems.

    Legal

    • Privacy policy: photos in messages, view-once photos, online status for friends and the online counter.

    Internal improvements for administrators.

  3. v2.5.4

    A slimmer activity strip

    • The live activity strip is now slimmer, edge to edge, and only on the home page.

    For everyone

    • Activity strip: smaller tiles, full width of the page, and no longer shown in the machine room.
  4. v2.5.3

    Who's online, for everyone

    • The green online counter next to Community is now visible to everyone.
    • Movi explains why some systems aren't in the catalog and where to get them officially.

    For everyone

    • Online counter next to Community, also when you are signed out (only the number).
    • Ask Movi about Windows, macOS or Ubuntu: it explains the licence or 64-bit limits and links to the official download page when there is one, to boot it with Own media.
  5. v2.5.2

    Ask Movi what's new

    • Movi now knows what changed in each update — ask it.
    • New “Ask Movi” button in the update notice and on this page.

    For everyone

    • Movi reads the public changelog, so it can explain new features in its own words.
    • “Ask Movi” opens the assistant with a question about the release you are looking at.

    Internal improvements for administrators.

  6. v2.5.1

    Maintenance

    • Internal improvements for administrators.

    Legal

  8. v2.4.0

    • Your username only appears there if you are on leaderboards.

    For everyone

    • Recent activity strip (last 7 days) on the home page and the machine room, with an icon per event and no private details.
    • Privacy policy: what the strip shows and how to stay out of it.

    Update notices and changelog

    • New changelog page with every change.
    • Friendlier 404 page.
    • Privacy and cookie policies updated.

    For everyone

    • A banner at the top tells you when an update is being published (about 5 minutes) and when it is live, with a short summary and a Refresh button.
    • This changelog page (/changelog).
    • A 404 page that looks like a machine failing to boot, with links to get back on track.
    • New systems can appear in the catalog between releases.
    • Movi can be turned off for an account that misuses it; the chat then explains why.

    Legal

    • Privacy policy: what administrators can see and change in an account, access to Movi chats, the sign-up notice and the update notices.
    • Cookie policy: every new browser storage key is listed.

    Internal improvements for administrators.
